The Custom Monitor Loudspeaker and Subwoofer Project

Over the last few weeks I've been busy with the construction of a pair of monitor loudspeakers. While there is nothing cutting edge about them, it's a project I've been designing on paper for a few months to complement the 12" subwoofer that I had built a while back. I really wanted to see if I could come up with something that could at least match or outperform my current commercial monitor systems.

The completed system in the living room. I've since replaced the integrated amp with a pre-amp and power amplifier and the entire drive chain is being controlled with a dbx Driverack

I've been listening to the completed system for a week now and am really pleased with the results. The mids are warm and focussed, highs are smooth and detailed due to the ribbon drivers and the lows are absolutely kick ass! Performance is definitely up there with my commercial monitors. :)
